Abstract

In this case study, Cellistic presents the Echo™-Cardio use case, a suspension-based stirred-tank bioprocess for manufacturing iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes under chemically defined conditions. The platform achieves high cardiac purity, robust viable cell yields, and a predominantly ventricular-like phenotype, while avoiding dedicated downstream purification steps that can increase process complexity and limit scalability.

By combining controlled 3D bioprocessing, a rational scale-up strategy, and close monitoring of critical process parameters, this work illustrates how complex iPSC differentiation workflows can be translated into more reproducible, scalable, and GMP-aligned manufacturing processes.
