New Business Generation (Primary Focus)

    • Own active prospecting and outbound lead generation across biotech, biopharma, and emerging cell therapy companies
    • Identify, engage, and qualify new accounts through cold outreach, conferences, referrals, and targeted campaigns
    • Drive early-stage discussions from first contact → qualification → proposal
    • Maintain a strong cadence of meetings, follow-ups, and pipeline advancement

Pipeline & Deal Execution

    • Build and maintain a robust, high-quality sales pipeline aligned with annual targets
    • Lead commercial discussions through proposal development, pricing, and contract negotiation (in collaboration with Legal and Technical teams)
    • Advance opportunities toward closed-won while managing risk, timelines, and internal alignment

Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Partner closely with Technical, Manufacturing, Quality, and Project Management teams to scope opportunities and ensure feasibility
    • Serve as the commercial lead for assigned opportunities, owning customer communication and expectations

Market & Territory Ownership

    • Develop deep understanding of the West Coast cell therapy ecosystem (biotech hubs, VCs, accelerators, academic spinouts)
    • Represent the company at key industry conferences, partnering events, and customer meetings

Success in This Role Looks Like

    • Consistent new lead generation and qualification
    • A growing, well-structured pipeline with clear line-of-sight to revenue
    • Strong conversion of opportunities into proposals and signed deals
    • High credibility with customers and internal stakeholders
    • Visible ownership and accountability for commercial outcomes

Qualifications

Required

    • 5+ years of business development, sales, or commercial experience in cell therapy CDMO services
    • Proven track record as a hunter with demonstrated success in outbound prospecting and pipeline creation
    • Experience selling complex, technical services or platforms (early development through GMP preferred)
    • Strong executive presence and ability to engage scientific, technical, and business stakeholders
    • Willingness to travel frequently across the West Coast
    • Must be based in a major US West Coast biotech hub, such as San Diego, Los Angeles, or San Francisco.

Preferred

    • Experience in iPSC-derived, allogeneic cell therapy, or advanced therapy modalities
    • Existing network within West Coast biotech and VC ecosystems
    • Comfort operating in a fast-growing, evolving organization
